New Uses for Silk Lame Threads

Silk Lame is an exciting thread from Rainbow Gallery that comes in three sizes: for 13 and 18 mesh and Petite. While you might love them for stitching, did you know you could use them in other ways too?

Use the smaller sizes for twisted cord to finish ornaments or stand-ups. You can match the colors in your design, get a bit of glitz, and create a custom, but narrow braid all at once.

Pick the Petite size to make a light-coverage background that is barely noticeable on the canvas. If you pick a light color, you’ll also create a softly colored background.

Thanks to the folks at Homestead Needle Arts for these great suggestions!
