Jo Ippolito Christensen, author of The Needlepoint Book, got red wine on this vintage needlepoint bag. She tells her Facebook fans what happened next:
“This vintage needlepoint beaded evening bag was the recipient of a red wine spill. I took it to the ladies room and ran it under water, figuring if it ruined it, it wouldn’t matter because it was already ruined. Then I asked Google what to do—salt. I poured salt on the stains. The salt turned orange quickly. I brushed it off and poured on more. I repeated this five or six times. The last time, the salt did not turn color much, so I left it on over night. The next morning, when I dumped all the salt off, it was perfect!!!”
