The Shining Needle Society has Toni Gerdes lovely Wright Kimono open for registration. It ” is a design based on the teachings and ideas of Frank Lloyd Wright. This kimono is modeled after the wonderful stained glass windows of Frank Lloyd Wright who also was influenced by his journeys to Japan. In this intermediate level class, you will learn the “perfect circle” concept, some history of Wright’s era, and many interesting stitches, including stitches that enhance the vertical and circular design areas. Learning to stretch Flair and appliqué it to the white 18ct. mono canvas along with attaching mirrored tiles to the design are two fun techniques that will be explored. Threads include silks, rayons, nylons, bamboo and others.”
